Hi, I’m Maya — wife, fur baby mama, and Owner Events by Harvey. Before moving to Memphis, I grew up in Rochester, Minnesota. You will probably be able to hear my Midwestern accent after a few conversations — haha! At 17, I joined the Navy Reserves as a Yeoman — an experience that taught me discipline, organization, and the value of teamwork. At 20, I moved to Memphis for a handsome guy… and luckily, I ended up marrying him.

How did I get into wedding planning? A dear friend told me I would be good at it, and I believed them. Five years after that random conversation with a friend, here we are. I couldn't be where I am today without God, my family, and the incredible EBH team who work so hard behind the scenes & I hope you get the chance to meet some of them on your wedding day!

Alongside my love and devotion for event planning, I am also on the board for Hands for Humanity, a nonprofit close to my heart. Event planning has my heart and is the thing that makes me smile even in the chaos. Outside of planning events, you can usually find me in my favorite spot in the house — the kitchen — or enjoying my garden. I own way too many black clothes, wedding food reminds me of Thanksgiving (and I love it), I have an unhealthy obsession with sparkling water and my all-time favorite movie is Mamma Mia — partly because it’s my mom’s favorite, too.

Event planning combines everything I love most: creativity, organization, and celebrating love and joy. My goal is to make your day feel effortless, personal, and unforgettable — so you can simply show up and soak in every moment.
